Summary
Titled: "The Pura Principle"
This story takes place in the time right after "Nilda." Having been diagnosed with cancer, Rafa has been in and out of the hospital. Their mother lets him get away with anything because she’s always treated him like the favorite child. Rafa goes through chemo and gets to return home. He goes around the city getting into wild fights. He’s constantly fooling around with women, as well, whenever he can. He decides to get a job at the Yarn Barn because he doesn’t want to be a dealer like Yunior. While he’s there, he meets an Indian woman named Pura. After a few weeks, Rafa collapses and he has to give up on the job.
