Summary
In Chapter 38, Minni changes Pinky's sheets while Pinky studies. Pinky asks Minni to put away some photos. Minni discovers a duplicate photo of Pinky's father and slips it into her pocket. Later, Minni wonders if this makes her a thief. She tries to imagine how she might get the photo to a journalist. Minni is surprised to see police at the tea stall, but then discovers some officers stop by every day for tea and pakodas.
In Chapter 39, Minni doubts she can change anything until she thinks about the fear and anger when there is not enough water in the neighborhood. Minni knows Pinky's father cares nothing about the people he hurts.
