Part II, Chapter 14 Summary
Sita describes a similar standoff she had when she living in the Scottish Highlands. Lord Tensley took her lover, Harold, hostage because he wanted Sita for himself. Lord Tensley ends up stabbing and killing Harold. He also ends up burning Sita at the stake because he thinks she is a witch.
Part II, Chapter 14 Analysis
Although it is centuries later, Sita finds herself in another situation where her enemy is holding someone she cares about hostage. It foreshadows that the ending might be the same. Sita mind find herself dead, and Joel might find himself collateral damage because of Sita.
