Chapter 1 Summary
Alisa Perne is the narrator of "Thirst No. 1: The Last Vampire, Black Blood, Red Dice". She says she is a modern vampire, so that many of the assumptions made about vampires are not true. She says her current body is 18 years old. In reality, she was around before the pyramids were erected. She says she drinks blood, but also eats and digests normal food. She states that her senses are acute and her strength is great—although she doesn't kill as much as she once did. Alisa is currently standing outside of Detective Michael Riley's office. He has summoned her there to tell Alisa something. She doesn't know what he has to say.
