Naomi Witt is the female protagonist of the story. She comes into Knockemout after leaving her fiancee on their wedding day. She comes to help her sister, Tina, who has always treated her poorly. Naomi ends up being robbed by Tina. Still, Naomi stays in town to raise her sister’s daughter, Waylay.
