Summary
Chapter 6, told from the perspective of Naomi, finds Naomi and Waylay on their bikes heading to the grocery store. Naomi and Waylay negotiate about food at the grocery store, as Waylay is used to making whatever is in the refrigerator for herself, while Naomi is more concerned with eating healthy and getting her niece to do so as well. Waylay gets a dirty look from a man who works at the store. The deli worker is rude to Naomi, and she asks him why. He believes she is Tina. The worker does not believe that she is Naomi and tells her that both she and her daughter are no good. Normally Naomi would have apologized in such situations, but she was upset and yelled at the worker who finally believed her that she is not Tina. The scene switches to Naomi and...
