Chapters 23 and 24 Summary
Bobby wakes up on Wednesday morning from a nightmare. He takes a shower and plans out what he is going to say to Sheila when he calls her today. As Bobby is about to call out for his mom to bring him a towel, he hears the truancy officer's voice talking to his mom downstairs.
The truancy officer is telling Bobby's mom that the Florida authorities have visited Ethel's house and that Aunt Ethel and Bobby are nowhere to be found. After Bobby's mom gets rid of the truancy officer and heads off to teach her class, Bobby calls Sheila. At first, Sheila acts very defensive and even hangs up on Bobby. When Bobby calls back and starts to explain his situation on her answering machine, Sheila picks up the phone and admits she knows that he's talking about being invisible...
