Chapters 15 and 16 Summary
After three weeks of Bobby being out of school, a truancy officer shows up at the Phillips' household. Mrs. Phillips tells her that Bobby is staying with a relative in Florida and that they are going to withdraw him from his Chicago school. When the truancy officer leaves, she stops and talks with Mrs. Trent. Bobby's mom cal;s Aunt Ethel to tell her the story about Bobby being invisible so that she can cover in case anyone calls her.
Bobby's mom tells Bobby to clean up his room and get things in order to make it look like he hasn't been at home for the past few days. The truancy officer returns to Bobby's home with some Chicago police officers and a search warrant with her. The police officers search the house, especially Bobby's room, looking for him.
