Summary
In Chapter 20, Jill takes her test for the scholarship. She feels extremely proud of herself for doing her best without cheating for once. However, after lunch, Headmaster Weingarten calls Jill into his office and scolds her for attempting to ruin the reputation of the school by dragging the name of Mr. Beaumont through the mud. Jill is confused about how her involvement has been unearthed, but the headmaster says he knows everyone in town. He threatens to tell Brown she has been cheating on her tests if she continues looking into the past. Additionally, he threatens to expose Jared as a cheater, too.
