Summary
Now almost 2 a.m., Mateo has cleaned the house and is now online trying to write the inscription for his gravestone. He chooses, “Here Lies Mateo: He Lived for Everyone” (41). Mateo realizes that time is running out and he turns to an app called Last Friend in the hopes of finding a friend who can serve as a coach for him on the End Day. While filling out his profile, he decides on a picture of him “goofing-around-in-the-Luigi-hat,” hoping that it represents the person that he wants to be, loose and carefree (46).
