Summary
In Chapter 27, Juliette meets with Paul, but is unable to get him to talk about his father or the Larkspur. He tells her that he has a surprise at his house which excites Juliette as she might be able to find information there. He asks if she has heard about the strikes and says that the poor are the ones fighting back. Juliette says the Scarlets have it under control. They arrive at Paul’s house and Juliette wonders how Walter could afford something so extravagant. Paul leads her to Walter’s office where there are four paintings of Juliette. She pretends to appreciate them and pretends to faint to get Paul to leave. She looks through the desk but does not find anything until Paul returns with his suitcase.
