Summary
Chapter 9 is titled “Harry Potter and the Little Black Spot.” Over the next several months, the author says, people take turns trying to fix her. Jack offers her comfort and hope, her mother offers her support and company while Jack is on tour, and the author’s friend Katie offers her a visit to a Christian faith healer. Katie knows that she is not likely to accept, because she knows, the author says, that she is “angry at God, questioning him, that I have no desire to visit his house, since he refuses to come to mine” (98). To both their surprise, however, the author decides to go. She is chosen to see the healer, and while the healer performs his rituals, the author wonders if this means she has finally met Jesus.
