Summary

Chapter 15 covers Day 10 in the novel. Walking around on the Foundation property, Frankie discovered that the outer edges of the lawn were plastic grass, and beyond that the dirt was nearly bare. Off in the distance, only areas that were watered and tended had plant life.

Back at her apartment, the E-musement screen distracted her with news of flooding, and Frankie finally had enough. Having experienced so much pain in her own life, she did not like to watch the news. She found some garbage bags and nailed them to the wall, gradually covering the screen, using a frying pan as a hammer. While she worked, she saw an animation of two poly-roaches attacking each other until they finally merged into one larger, more powerful poly-roach.
