Chapter 11 Summary
Jonas closed his eyes. He felt the touch of the old mans hands on his back get colder. The air around him changed, getting harder to breathe. He felt pinpricks all over his body. He stuck out his tongue and got a cold surprise. Smiling he did it again and again, each one turning to water in his mouth. Part of him knew that he was just lying on a couch in a room with the Giver, but a separate part of him felt and saw himself sitting on a sled at the top of a hill. These new words came to him as he looked at them. The sled ride was exhilarating, Jonas wanted more. The Giver promised it as a treat for another time. Jonas was a flood of questions.
