Summary
The year opens with the New Yorker having arranged for Amy and Sedaris to have their picture taken by Duane Michals. The photograph was intended to run in the Goings on About Town section, and Amy and Sedaris both promised themselves not to do anything stupid. An hour into the shoot however, Amy and Sedaris were sitting on top of a battered piano with their arms in slings.
In February, Sedaris has a horrible experience with a photographer named Chris. Chris had come to take Sedaris’s picture for some magazine and because Sedaris was so busy preparing for a tech rehearsal of the play, he had asked Chris to meet him at the theater.
