London, England is the primary setting for the novel. Lauren spent her childhood in London. In the narrative's present, she resides in London in a flat that her grandmother passed down to her and her sister Nat. Lauren makes no attempts to move out of the city because London has come to define Lauren and her life. When she does leave London for Felix's house or to travel to Denver, she quickly realizes how much she loves the city and wants to go back.
