Summary

In Chapter 36, Lauren makes plans to get Amos back into the attic while she is on her way back to London. Shortly after returning, she breaks into an acquaintance’s house and steals her drugs. On Sunday, she meets Amos for coffee and slips the pills into his cup. She acts civil throughout the meeting. Amos starts to feel sick and they take a walk to get some air. While walking, Lauren gives him a juice with liquor in it. She convinces him to come back to the flat to rest. Once back, he reveals he is seeing someone and needs to contact her about his whereabouts. He collapses on the floor and Lauren does not know how to get him upstairs. She calls Bohai, desperate for help, but he “met someone,” is engaged, and cannot come (274). Desperate, Lauren crawls into the attic...
