Summary

In Chapter 10, Lauren’s new husband Rohan is an amateur actor (69). Lauren likes him and has sex with him. Afterward, they go to Toby and Maryam’s for dinner. Lauren is surprised to discover they are all swingers. She races back to her flat to avoid group sex. Toby follows.

In Chapter 11, Lauren tries to tell Toby about the attic, but he does not understand. She asks about their arrangement and Toby reminds her when they all started sleeping together. She then sends Toby up to the attic, as he thinks he can resolve her issue. He notices the malfunctioning light bulb, but nothing happens to him. Afterwards, they have “unremarkable sex” (79). She wonders if Rohan and Maryam had sex too, upset that Toby and Maryam’s “neat model” of marriage is ruined (80).
