Summary

"Marrow" begins during a period of bountiful harvest in the You village and it is written in the first person narration of Fourth Wife You. It is here Fourth Wife You takes her four idiot children out into the fields so that she can watch them while she completes the autumn harvest. She hears Third Daughter complaining that Fourth Idiot is sexually harassing her. She calls her son over and slaps him in the face for doing that to his own sister.

Third Daughter tells Fourth Wife You that she wishes to be married and Fourth Wife You knows she cannot deny that it is time to marry off Third Daughter.
