Summary
“Blight” is the second part of the novel and begins with Chapter 20. Over 200 people fell ill over the next few days, and 60 died before the Sabbath. Immanuelle wanted to help, but did not want to ask Ezra for anything else. Instead, she talked to her grandfather, Abram, and asked him to help her go to the Outskirts to see her father’s family since she thought she might find a way to stop the plague through them.
In Chapter 21, Immanuelle went to the Church of the Outskirts early in the morning. She talked to the priest, who told her that her grandmother lived outside the Hallowed Gate in Ishmel.
