Summary
In Chapter 7, "Winnie," Winnie agrees to host Friendsgiving without asking Nigel. She gets home and notices "the distinct smell of sour body" in her room (66). Though Nigel is initially upset about hosting Friendsgiving, on the day of the event he is in a good mood. Everything is going well for a while. Then, as Samuel is heading out the door to his friend's house, Dakota enters and makes a scene. When he yells at Samuel, Nigel attacks Dakota. Winnie tells her brother to leave. He takes his bag and leaves. Later, Nigel is still upset. They get into a fight. Nigel brings up the past, hurting Winnie.
In Chapter 8, "Juno," Juno listens to Winnie and Nigel fight. When Nigel accuses Winnie of stealing "someone's infant" Juno wonders if this is "the reason behind [Winnie's] depression" (81). Samuel must not be their child.
