Chapters 3-5 Summary
In chapter three, Milo visits his adopted son, Muffin, a young black boy whom Milo took in while he was a sheriff's deputy. Muffin deals in stolen goods and Milo has reason to believe he might know where to find Reese. Muffin resists at first, afraid that the wrong people will get the impression he has been talking to the wrong people. However, Muffin finally tells Milo where to look. When Milo arrives at Reese's rented house, he finds Simon already there talking to a young addict sitting on the front steps. Milo asks her about Raymond, whom she refers to as El Creepo, and learns that Raymond once lived at this address, but Reese threw him out.
