Summary

In Chapter 29, Lo continued to wait, but no one came. She had last eaten breakfast Thursday and she assumed it was late Friday. Lo tried to stand quickly when she heard a noise in the corridor but instead passed out.

When Lo regained consciousness, the girl was standing over her begging her to wake up. The girl was obviously afraid she had killed Lo and relieved when she began talking to her. This time, when Lo asked her name, the girl said she was Carrie. Lo took the chance and asked again what was going to happen to her, if Bullmer was going to kill her. Carrie did not respond but Lo saw she had tears in her eyes. It was not until the girl left that Lo saw she had brought the copy of Lo’s book Winnie-the-Pooh.
