Summary
Chapter 6- Cecelia and Miss Darlington join the rest of the Wisteria Society, who are all dressed in flowers and feathers. Cecelia is hopeful that she will finally be promoted, until news of her assassination gets little reaction. She joins Constantinopla, and her former friend Jane Fairweather, near the fire. From there Cecelia tries to eavesdrop on the senior members with little success, then goes outside She notices strangeness in the home of Petunia Dole before being confronted by Ned. Ned and Cecelia trade hits and innuendo, and Cecelia returns to the other women as the Dole home is stolen. It is noted that Cecelia is not afraid of the appearance of “her father’s monstrous Gothic lair” (64). Miss Darlington insists that she and Cecelia retrieve their coats before returning to pilot their own home. Cecelia is briefly distracted by the thought...
