Section 7: Chapters 12-14 Summary
In Chapter 12, Hock Seng recalls Anderson's fury that he failed to bribe Customs, and he is so angry that Anderson threatened to fire him if the factory is not up to 40% reliability within a month that he wants to steal the factory plans, but he knows suspicious will fall upon him. Now, Hock Seng learns about Anderson's infatuation with the windup girl and that the tanks are contaminated. Hock Seng is summoned to see the Dung Lord, and he offers to make kink springs in exchange for a ship and the Dung Lord's patronage. Hock Seng is relieved when the Dung Lord agrees to his suggested arrangement.
