Toru rides his bike to the train station in the rain to take Kumiko's skirt and blouse to the dry cleaners. The clerk recognizes Toru and gives him a ticket indicating that the clothes can be picked up the following Tuesday. Before leaving the station, Toru notices all the men dressed in their corporate uniforms: suit and tie with black shoes, briefcase, umbrella.
