Point of View

"The Will of the Empress" is told from the first person point of view of mages Sandrilene fa Toren, Briar Moss, Daja Kisubo, and Trisana Chandler. Each of them have occasion to tell the continuing story from their point of view as they watch events unfold in front of them. Each character has an opportunity to reveal intimate things about themselves, and the way that they feel about themselves and each other. Each of the mages has had experiences that tested them both physically and mentally, and forced them to put their power to use. Each has responded to dire circumstances in ways that they are not always proud of. As such, the author gives each of these four characters an opportunity to purge their demons to a degree, sharing their trials in part with their siblings and in part with others.
