Chapters 17 and 18 Summary
Tris is unconscious and the healers are sent for. They take Tris upstairs while Ambros calls for a mage to discern whether or not a spell was used, explaining Ishabal is quite accomplished at curses made to look like accidents. Ambros suggests that with Tris confined, perhaps the others would be easier to convince to stay, and even with the help of healers it would be weeks before Tris could travel. The healer emerges just after two and tells them that Tris has five broken ribs, a broken collarbone, dislocated shoulder, broken cheekbone, one arm broken in two places, left ankle broken, right leg broken in three places, two cracks in her skull, a broken wrist, dislocated hip, and several broken fingers and toes.
