Summary
As the semester continued, Joe continued to heavily praise the pieces that Joan wrote for the creative writing class. One day, about a month into the semester, Joe asked Joan if she would be willing to babysit his daughter for an evening while he went out with his wife. Joan said that she would. While babysitting, Joan realized that she was falling in love with Joe. In Joe’s home, Joan noticed a walnut with a loving message on it that Joe had apparently given to his wife Carol. During Joan’s next office hours session with Joe, Joe earnestly said that Joan had the talent to become an established writer.
