Summary

“Part Seven: Jane,” begins with the 24th chapter. Jane begins to hear a continual thumping sound coming from the top of the house.

In “Chapter 25,” Jane goes to coffee with the Neighborhood Beautification ladies. They bring up the supposed affair between Blanche and Eddie, but they say they do not believe it. They were friends with both women, and though they admit there was some tension between the two, especially after Bea started spending so much time at work, they refuse to believe the affair was happening. John messages Jane and asks for another 500 dollars.

In “Chapter 26,” Jane calls the number from Phoenix that had been attempting to reach her through John. It turns out that her mother had a sister who was attempting to find her and reconnect. Jane says she does not know any one by the name of Helen Burns...
