Summary
“Part Four: Bea” starts with an italicized scene in which a third-person narrator focuses on Bea as she goes out to dinner with her husband, Blanche, and Tripp. Blanche and Tripp fight the whole night, as always, and Tripp drinks too much. Blanche says she wants to renovate her house and hire Eddie to do so. Bea instinctively dislikes the idea. However, Eddie agrees to the job before she can stop him. Tripp gets so drunk that Eddie has to walk him to his car. After he puts him inside, Bea sees Eddie smiling at Blanche like he smiled at her when they first met.
