Goldy (Gertrude) Schulz
Goldy Schulz, the narrator of the novel, is a 38-year-old woman who lives in the affluent community of Aspen Meadows, Colorado with her second husband Tom Schulz – an investigator with the sheriff’s department – and Arch Korman, her 17-year-old son from her first marriage to an abusive husband she refers to as the Jerk. Goldy owns Goldilocks’ Catering, which she runs with the help of her assistant Julian Teller. Along with being a wife, mother, and a successful business owner Goldy is also an amateur detective who over the years (and the course of the previous 16 novels in this series) has solved a number of murders and other crimes, usually with the help of her best friend Marla.
