Chapter 21

After they return home, Marla says she will make some calls when she gets to her house to see what gossip there is about Neil Unger and Ophelia’s new-found wealth. Goldy, Julian, and Boyd find Tom in the kitchen and the three of them tell him about what happened at Ophelia’s party. Goldy then says that Holly and Neil had known each other, and there was a slight possibility that Neil could have fathered Drew at the medical conference 18 years before. She also reminds Tom that Neil had shown up at the house while she and Julian had been preparing the food for Arch and Drew’s party, and might have been able to sprinkle Loquin on the chili relleno torta when Goldy had been checking her computer. Tom reports that the crime-scene techs had found nothing in the backyard...
