Summary
Henry and 20 court members visit for a meal with the York family. After 23 courses, the King commands Elizabeth to dance. She does so unwillingly with Cecily. Afterwards, Henry requests alone time with Elizabeth. Her mother leads them to a room. Once inside, he tells her they are going to consummate their betrothal. She tries to refuse but he tells her he knows about her affair with King Richard. He also knows that Richard’s wife is dead, accusing Elizabeth of the murder. When she denies it, he admits he also knows that her younger brothers, who were locked in a tower during the war, are dead. He rapes her and tells her she must be pregnant by their wedding day.
