Chapter 10-12 Summary

Jaxom and Menolly arrive at the cove on the Southern Continent to look for D'ram. They wait for local fire-lizards to come to Ruth in the hopes the lizards will be able to tell them if they have ever seen D'ram and if so when. They enjoy a swim in the cove's waters and fall asleep on the sand. Ruth wakes Jaxom and Menolly when fire-lizards begin arriving. They remember a bronze dragon and a man that walked the beach but say that the man didn't stay long. They also remember men but not men like Jaxom or Menolly. Their images don't make much sense to Jaxom or Menolly and the fire-lizards soon leave. Jaxom flies back twenty-five turns to find when D'ram is and then returns to find Menolly.

Jaxom and Menolly mount on Ruth and head back to F'lar...
