The Waste Ground

The waste ground is the place near Featherbank from which Neil Spencer was abducted. The boy’s body is returned to the place where he was abducted after he is killed.

Featherbank

Featherbank is the name of the town to which Tom and Jake move when they decide they need to get a fresh start. Tom believes that it will be a safe place for them because even the name sounded safe. Tom was not aware of the string of child abductions and murders that had taken place twenty years prior. He is also not aware that Rebecca lived for a short while in Featherbank. It is because Jake saw pictures of his mother in front of the house Tom bought that he was so excited about living in that house in particular.
