Relationships
In the case of missing, young girls and the ensuing investigation, relationships are critical. Kelly and Petra had a unique relationship in which they could get along with each other, play, and communicate without words. They both disappear at the same time, causing people to wonder whether they ran off together. In the past, Petra has always been there to help Calli. Calli's mother pointed out to her daughter that someday Petra would need her, and she should be ready to help her friend. This becomes very true when Petra is in trouble in this story. Calli has to go out of her element to save her friend.
