Tiffany
Tiffany is the central protagonist of The Wee Free Men. She is a resourceful and practical nine-year-old girl growing up on a farm who discovers that she has gifts which are unusual for a child her age. After an encounter with a witch, a run-in with a monster near her home, and the abduction of her brother, her emerging skills are very much put to the test.
She is very wise and open-minded, considering that she has never known any life outside of the Chalk, which is her home. Over the course of the novel she explores other worlds and figures out how to use her skills to their full potential. Tiffany’s coming-of-age is a thematic backdrop for the narrative.
