Honor Chasm
The Honor chasm and the various chasms that Kaladin and Bridge Four traverse when they are scavenging are representative of the lowly status the bridgemen have within the camp. Those in charge do not care if the bridgemen live or die and they would rather the bridgemen be sent deep within the earth not to be seen again. However, Bridge Four subverts this meaning at the end of the novel and gives the chasms new meanings. Bridge Four has risen from the depths of these chasms, representing the depths of their despair and risen to become an incredibly well-trained unit and men who have decided to take back their lives. The chasms represent the lowly wretches these men once were and when they climbed out of them, it represents the newfound hope and purpose the men have found.
