Summary
Chapter 35 continues in Kaladin's first person narration as the storm slams against him. He does everything he can to try to stay awake and keep from being bashed against the roof of the building. Syl's voice tells him to grab the edge of the roof and he does, holding on to the edge with the sphere Teft had given him pressed in his palm. Syl then whispers to him to grab the ring to which the other end of the rope around his ankles is tied. Kaladin grabs it, struggling not to let go. He felt as if he were in a nightmare. Suddenly, a blackness envelopes him and the storm goes still.
