Summary

Chapter 24 begins with Dalinar's first person narration as he meets highprince Roion in the Gallery of Maps. Dalinar tries to convince Roion that a joint plateau assault would work but Roion tells him that these wars are like games to the highprinces and they will never give up that kind of contest. He also insults Dalinar a bit by mentioning the rumors that have been circulating that Dalinar is not fit to rule his princedom. Dalinar offers Roion a fair split of the gemheart and the first Shard they capture if they work together but as Roion leaves, Dalinar knows that Roion will most likely not take the offer.
