Book 2, Part 5, Chapters 1 - 14 Summary

Three days after their palaver Roland's group finds a downed airplane with the remains of David Quick inside. Jake identifies the plane as a German plane from his world. To back up his suspicion, Jake discovers a swastika hidden beneath a decal showing a fist and thunderbolt. In Chapter 2, Roland tells Jake he studied riddles as part of his formal education. In the remainder of the chapter they discuss the seriousness of riddling. In Chapter 3, the group tries to solve riddles as they sit around their fire. Also in this chapter Roland decides they need to take turns keeping watch as the others sleep. As Eddie keeps watch in Chapter 4, he tries to come up with an answer to a riddle from Jake's book.
