Book 1, Part 3, Chapters 16 - 44 Summary

In Chapter 16, Jake gets directions to Markey Avenue from an elderly gentleman. In Chapter 17, Roland builds a fire in order for Eddie to have light to work on the key. In Chapter 18, Eddie wishes on the first star of the night for the courage to finish they key. He returns to camp and finishes the key. Even when he is done, Eddie has the feeling it is not quite right. He then sharpens the end of a stick. In Chapter 19, Roland wakes Eddie and Susannah early to reach the speaking ring in time. As they travel they begin to hear a rhythmic sound coming from the city of Lud.

In Chapter 20, Jake meets up with the teenaged Eddie in front of The Majestic Theatre on Markey Avenue. In Chapter 21, Henry, Eddie's brother, is teasing the girl working...
