Chapters 25-28 Summary
In Chapter Twenty-Five, Aten, the Lord of Danu Talis, watches the Vimanas rise out of the volcano and learns what has been done with the prisoners. Both he and his brother, Anubis, were experiencing the change. Aten's body was growing elongated and Anubis' head was becoming that of a jackal, like the anpus he had created. Anubis believes the visitors should be killed, but Aten wants to protect them, because he realizes they are part of his world's fate. When Anubis questions Aten, Aten grows angry and threatens to kill him if he continues to question him or attempts to act behind his back. The fact that Anubis is Aten's brother and he loves him is the only reason why Anubis is still alive.
In Chapter Twenty-Six, two teenage hoodlums watch as a large, but seemingly harmless drunk walks past them...
