Summary

Chapter 8 is brief and depicts a typical conversation between Leonard and Corey during the period when Leonard lives in Quincy. Corey is in awe of Leonard’s supposed genius, and Leonard clearly enjoys having an audience. He tells Corey, “I could tell you a lot…if I wanted to” (95). Chapter 9 begins with Corey starting a job on a construction site and being pleased with this. He and Adrian hang out and talk about their fathers. Adrian tells Corey an anecdote about his father taking him hunting one weekend and bringing him to a prostitute; Adrian got gonorrhea. Eventually, Corey brings Adrian to his home and introduces him to Leonard; the two get along well with each other and share a common fondness and capacity for physics.
