Section II - Shakedown Summary

Sophie is over the moon as The Wanderer sets out from the dock. She feels as if her heart will leap into the sky as the sky calls her name. The rocking of the boat on the waves makes Sophie think of Bompie - was it Bompie? - holding her on his lap when she was a child, whispering stories into her ear.

Both Sophie and Cody are keeping a journal of the daily activities aboard the boat. Not much happens the first few days, except Brian doles out daily chores for everyone. Since the trip is estimated to take three to four weeks, Uncle Stew thinks it will be a good idea for everyone on board to teach something along the way.
