Chapters 16-18 Summary
In Chapter 16, Treadwell's attorney calls him to inform him the DA's office wants to give him a lie detector test. The attorney believes it is a bad idea, but Treadwell sees it as a way to get justice for Poppy and insists. At Holly Park, Samson, another drug dealer, begins taking over Dido's cut. On the other side of town, Glitsky has lunch with his father. Nat Glitsky tells his son that quitting his job over bureaucracy is not smart because there will be bureaucracy everywhere he goes. Nat encourages his son to stay and do his job to the best of his abilities. Glitsky sees Johnny LaGuardia come into the restaurant and sees it as an opportunity to put some unanswered questions to rest.
