Chapters 7-9 Summary
In Chapter 7, Louis Baker wakes up late in the morning and immediately receives a visit from Abe Glitsky. Baker denies having killed Ingraham and insists that he has not seen him in nine years. Glitsky warns Baker to stay clean and leaves. Glitsky talks to Hardy and tells him that there is no evidence to charge Baker. Hardy decides to prove to Glitsky that Ingraham is dead and that his body fell of the barge and floated out into the bay. Shortly before this, a beat cop returns to the barge and offers to help in hopes of impressing Glitsky. The cop finds a glass in the galley that was not checked for prints, bags it, and turns it in to the supervising sergeant.
