Poornima

Poornima is a symbol of the life that Bindu could have had were it not for the various strictures that society places on women to act in certain ways and fulfill their roles. When Bindu was 17, she acted in the film, and she did a nude scene on camera, directed by Oscar Seth, the man that she is having a passionate affair with. The film is ultimately destroyed, but not before it ends up causing Bindu a great deal of grief; men are afraid of marrying her, and her own mother tries to strangle her as a result, leading to her father's health mortally declining.
