Summary

In Chapter One, Claudia meets up with Coraline and learns that she has taken a break from Lionel, who has been staying with one of his MFA friends. Claudia asks Coraline to get her into the gala her company is sponsoring, but she lies about why she wants to go—claiming Komla is in love with a woman and wants to be reunited with her. Coraline agrees to get Claudia four tickets. Claudia goes home and learns that her roommate has begun seriously dating a new man—though he is pretending to be vegan in order to do so.

In Chapter Two, Coraline does Claudia’s makeup for the gala at the Gatsby. Claudia feels happy that her sister is helping her.
